Iced Matcha Latte
A perfect compliment to an intermittent fast or a hectic morning is an easy to digest liquid breakfast such as the matcha latte! This iced latte is high in healthy fats to help stabilize blood sugar and promote brain function as well as concentration. The organic matcha green tea powder provides L-theanine to support stress response and brain function and reduce anxiety. This recipe calls for the use of grassfed ghee in place of butter to make it iced. Learn more about the amazing benefits of matcha green tea here. If you are not pouring this over ice; the use of kerrygold grass-fed butter works great too! If following a ketogenic diet or utilizing the practice of intermittent fasting; you will want to omit the 1 tsp of maple syrup.
GATHER
1 tsp Matcha Powder (Matcha ful)
6-8 oz warm water
2 tsp grass-fed ghee (will work better than butter if making iced)
1.5 tsp bullet proof brain octane (option to use coconut oil but will not work iced if so)
1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
1/2 tsp Almond extract
1 pinch sea salt
2 tsp Maple (optional- omit if doing a ketogenic or low carb diet)
MAKE
Blend all ingredients together in heat safe blender and pour over ice and enjoy! If you do not have a heat safe blender or are not sure, I recommend using an emersion blender in a large tall glass to blend ingredients and get them nice and frothy before pouring over ice!
